That's exactly what happened when my best friend celebrated her birthday at Benihana in Newport Beach.

Beautiful plating. Perfectly cooked beef. One gorgeous dish after another!

By the third picture, my wallet needed CPR, and I hadn't even ordered anything! 😂

Then I remembered something I'd eaten years ago in Taiwan. Oh, no! Now I had to have it again! 😂

Long ago, at a teppanyaki restaurant in Taiwan, I had the most beautiful cucumber wrap with beef. Just a tender slice of beef rolled inside a delicate cucumber ribbon.

So simple. So delicious. And then it vanished!

I couldn't find it anywhere. Who gave my favorite appetizer permission to retire?! 😂

So I decided to recreate it myself. A little beef, a little cucumber, and a few sparkly toothpicks. What could possibly go wrong? 😂

I set down the plate. All we needed was a red carpet and paparazzi! 😂
